This position was a remote opportunity while I was at home during the pandemic. I was responsible for formatting resumes to Right Management’s Best Practices. Attention to detail and timelines were key to this position.

CRUISE PLANNERS

Adventure Specialist

Cruise Planners is our retirement plan. We were on track to book over $1M in reservations for 2020 when the pandemic shut the tourism industry down. While it is slowly recovering, it is no longer a full time job for both myself and my partner. 

  • Planned and coordinated marketing efforts for franchise startup and continuing business as well as worked with clients to plan vacations.

MURRIETA VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

Substitute Teacher TK-12

As a substitute teacher I faced some of my biggest personal challenges. I was especially fond of the middle / high school classes, which many people won’t teach. 

  • Covered for teachers as needed at all levels of the school district, including RSP / SPD classes.
  • Followed lesson plans when provided, made something up when not provided.

WESTAT

Assessment Coordinator, NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress)

NAEP is an annual program facilitated by Westat for the Department of Education, assessing 4th, 8th, and 12th graders in Math, Reading, Science and History. 

  • Coordinated and conducted school assessments for 4th and 8th graders as directed by Westat for the National Assessment of Educational Progress in 2017, 4th, 8th, and 12th graders in 2019.
  • Primary goal was to ensure accurate and consistent data collection for the nationwide study.
  • Organization, technical and coordination support for 16 schools in Northern Colorado and 21 schools in California.
  • Trained, supervised, and coordinated Assessment team of 3 Assessment Administrators.
  • Mentored new AC’s with their setup and additional training in CA.

SUICIDE EDUCATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES

Prevention Coordinator

Suicide Education and Support Services was a non-profit organization in Weld County, Colorado. We provided prevention education, and after care for families who had lost someone to suicide. 

  • Coordinated, scheduled, and gave lectures in Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention in Weld County.
  • Assisted with day-to-day operations and fundraising for a nonprofit organization.
  • Worked with school officials to give lectures in high schools.
  • No high school in Weld county that had our program for more than one year had any youth suicides in their school during the 3 years that I was in charge of the program. 
  • Coordinated volunteers to speak, teach and work in the community.
  • Assisted with the implementation of a major grant project.

BROWN AND CALDWELL

Reception, Data Entry, Accounts Receivable

Brown and Caldwell is a nationwide engineering firm working in the private and government sectors. I worked in the corporate office as a receptionist and accounting clerk before moving to the San Diego office and taking over the accounts receivables for San Diego and Irvine.  

  • Started in reception using a PBX phone system with over 100 extensions.
  • Moved to accounting starting with data entry and moving to accounts receivable as well as assisting with payroll.
  • Responsible for full invoicing for San Diego and Irvine offices, 1.5K clients monthly, including over 100 Navy projects.
  • Oversaw the implementation and training of employees in cost tracking software and devices for 16 offices nationwide, including training newly acquired employees following a merger.

FYFE CO.

Reception / Executive Assistant

Fyfe Co. was a small engineering and manufacturing facility. 

  • Executive assistant to six-person engineering firm.

AMERICAN RED CROSS

CPR / First Aid Contract instructor

The American Red Cross was the only place to get CPR training when I was an instructor there. I taught nearly every day, including Saturdays. 

  • Gave CPR and First Aid training as a contracted instructor.

When working for Target I was frequently put into temporary supervisor roles because I was well trained and trustworthy. I was never officially promoted because I had to move before the opportunity arose. 

  • Served as cashier, guest services clerk and occasional front-line supervisor for both stores.
